The Commonwealth Department of Home Affairs has released The Modern Slavery Act 2018 Guidance for Reporting Entities (the Guidance). The 96-page document provides affected entities with instructions for compliance with the Modern Slavery Reporting Requirement. This document provides a short summary of the Guidance and comments on some of its key aspects.
"Modern Slavery Statements must provide a description of actions taken by that entity to assess and address modern slavery risks in their operations and supply chains. The Act’s requirements will directly affect over 3000 Australian businesses."
